so many ways and especially

Below is a long blog post about 2018. I am very grateful for the many friends who supported me in so many ways and especially those who are willing to listen, read my books or share their experiences with others as well as all of you who have visited this site over the years. There was some pretty good stuff here when I started writing! This year has been one where things just kept coming at us from every direction: fires and smoke; earthquakes, floods, hurricanes and tornadoes; mass shootings; an economic downturn that affected our income; deaths in our families including pets we loved dearly (and there will be more next month); illnesses among family members—including our own health issues.…

post for some time now

Below is a long blog post about 2014. I hope you enjoy it! I have been wanting to write this post for some time now, but kept putting it off because of the sheer length and effort required. I was really hoping that all my good intentions would be rewarded with an easy time writing something succinct…but then again, life doesn’t always work out like we want them too..and so here goes-this year in review; or rather as much of it as I can cover at least before I begin to bore myself into oblivion (my usual state).…

and thats because it was

Below is a long blog post about 2015. It’s been two years since I posted my last “year in review” and that’s because it was a very busy year for me personally, with the birth of our daughter and moving from San Diego to Portland (which has also kept this website on life support). It doesn’t help that things have gotten slower at work too – so even if there were more posts here you wouldn’t be able to read them anyway ;) So let’s look back over what happened in 2014… January: I flew out to Chicago to participate in Google’s annual CSI conference which focused on software engineering, but included an awesome tour through the city where we visited Money Museum at Federal Reserve Bank, saw a show by Second City improv group, went to Willis Tower Skydeck, and had dinner at Gilt Bar followed by drinking in the bar downstairs after hours.…

but here goes So let

Below is a long blog post about 10268. I’m not sure if it will be interesting to most of you, but here goes: So, let me start with the newest news on the set itself and move backward from there. The LEGO Ideas team has just announced that we are getting another wave of sets in January! There were no images or details provided other than they all come out at once (so don’t expect any previews), so this should probably happen around 5th-ish for those of us living in North America?…

excited to share it with

Below is a long blog post about 2017 in the life of Brennan Klein. The year was great, and I’m excited to share it with you! As my first full calendar year as an entrepreneur comes to a close (though, admittedly, there were things happening prior), I have much to celebrate…and many lessons learned along the way. It’s been quite a ride, and while at times I thought I might not make it through this past year – thanks to some personal challenges that hit me hard - I am still here…and ready for what lies ahead.…

Halcyon Days I hope you

Below is a long blog post about 12 years of music making, written for the release of my debut album ‘Halcyon Days’. I hope you find it interesting: I started composing and playing piano when I was around five or six years old but at that point in time all I really wanted to do was play football like everybody else did (and still does). When I turned nine I joined a local band and played bass guitar because there wasn’t any pianists available so they needed me as some kind of emergency measure; this band eventually became The Haircuts who were one of the most successful bands on our scene during those times.…

SAS in an email It

Below is a long blog post about 2013 but I wanted to share this article that was sent out by SAS in an email. It really does put things into perspective and makes you think twice before complaining! Sometimes, we get so wrapped up with our own little lives – the stuff going on at work or school, family issues, car problems, health woes…we forget how many people are struggling just for their next meal.…

read many articles and listened

Below is a long blog post about 3D printing. I am not an expert on this topic, but I have read many articles and listened to many podcasts in the last year or so that cover it well enough for me to be able to write something here. But even if you don’t understand everything below, please know that we are working hard at creating a business model where all of our products can be made via 3D Printing!…

Today at work we had

Below is a long blog post about 5-year plans and where I want to be in the next five years. Today, at work we had an exercise on what our company wanted to achieve within the coming year; this was broken down into three different sections: personal goals/career development objectives (where do you see yourself in your career), team targets (what would success look like for my immediate manager) and business objectives (how does that translate across all of us).…
