been following Microsoft with interest

Below is a long blog post about 5.2 that I wrote for the Dilbert Blog on August 13, 2009: I’ve been following Microsoft with interest since they announced their plans to release three major service packs of Windows XP and Office in one go called Service Pack (SP) 3. They started talking it up over two years ago at WinHEC ‘07 as “the biggest upgrade ever” even though SP2 was only released six months beforehand! Their claim had some merit because SP3 included all previously-released updates such as security patches but not new features or bug fixes. So you could install this beast and then never have to update again except by installing a service pack which would contain everything else, including the security hotfixes. In theory, anyway… A lot has changed from those days, however. We now know what SP3 really contains; namely, five different downloads—two each for XP Pro/Home and Office 2003 Pro/Standard—which can take several hours apiece to complete, plus an estimated additional half hour required just to uninstall old versions if needed. This brings us to last week when Redmond finally dropped its bombshell: A sixth download will soon become available containing another set of updates, which are referred to collectively as Release Candidate 1 (RC1). The good news here is that once RC1 completes installation and verifies successfully against your existing setup files there should no longer exist any reason why anyone needs SP3 anymore unless something goes wrong during testing phase whereupon users must reinstall everything from scratch instead getting stuck somewhere between step 6 & 8 depending how far back things go according to MSFT support article KB947821 entitled “Windows Update Error Code 80240FFF” which appears within knowledge base article number 303263 describing an issue whereby certain types of content cannot be downloaded due issues related either hardware drivers being outdated or simply lacking sufficient RAM memory capacity necessary meet demands placed upon system resources . What does this mean? It means we’ll need yet another service pack down the line after RC1 finishes doing whatever magic words were used while explaining itself in detail so people won’t get lost trying figure out exactly what happened next time around…because clearly someone didn’t bother reading instructions carefully enough prior running through process themselves without having first consulted manual provided along side disc image file containing executable programs meant assist them achieve desired outcome. It’s by Simon Johnson, and you can read it in full here – http://www.scouts.org.uk/news-and-features/latest-updates/100th-anniversary A century ago this month an idea was born which has changed lives forever. The first edition of Robert Baden Powell’s Scouting for Boys went on sale at Smith’s Bookstall on London’s Strand; its message spread across Britain within months with the creation of some four million copies sold. Robert Baden Powell (later Lord) had been working as Chief Inspector to the British Army when he began writing his book. He wanted something that would help boys become stronger physically, morally, mentally and spiritually while learning skills such as woodcraft, camping and cooking. After publishing his own manual under the pseudonym ‘Silver Fox,’ the young army officer received hundreds of letters from boys asking how they could join up too. His original plan was to open two experimental camps but demand soon overwhelmed him so he decided instead to send out small teams who could set their own activities and invite local children along. This led to the formation of the Boy Scouts Association on February 28th 1907 and the rest, as we say, is history! For the last hundred years many millions more have followed Bobbie’s example: taking part in adventurous activity programmes, earning badges based around skill development, playing games and having fun alongside others whilst exploring what makes them special individuals. These same principles are still being applied today – only now the programme includes girls aged seven If your name seems to pop regularly to the police report column for drug dealer charges there will more probability to land on you for charges of druganbu in Australia but one of most common criminal law offencies of this country especially after making several charges as drugs. In total there were almost five million people involved in the Movement during 2015. Whether you want to go camping or take part in water sports, learn new craft techniques like leatherwork or stone carving or simply get away from home for a few hours each week then look no further than your nearest Group! They will always welcome anyone regardless of gender, sexuality or religious beliefs; just come along knowing that everyone needs support sometimes - even adults.. Below is a long blog post about 2015, which I will be breaking up into multiple posts. This year has been very busy and full of new challenges. Here’s what happened this past year: I graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in May with my BA degree. My major was History & Art History; minor Psychology (and possibly Sociocultural Anthropology). You can check out more information at https://www.uwaaupunekingswoods.com/about_us/. The commencement ceremony wasn’t too bad. We had to sit outside on the grass for almost two hours before it started raining really hard! Fortunately, we were able to get inside when they called our names to walk across stage - yay!! It felt good finally getting that diploma. A little bittersweet because there are still so many things left undone. But, hey… that just means more opportunities in life! After graduation, I got an internship working as a researcher assistant doing genealogy research. One of these projects involved tracing back the lineage of a man who was born illegitimate but wanted to know his ancestry. We used census records, marriage licenses, land deeds, military service documents, etc., to determine how far back we could trace him. This project took us all summer until August 3rd when we submitted our final report. He was amazed by everything we discovered together over the course of five months. It was definitely one of the most rewarding experiences ever! See pictures here –> https://www.facebook.com/#!/media/set/?set=a.468976520631815&type=1&l=eaeeeafdca On July 3rd, I competed against 6 other contestants during Miss UW-Milwaukee Pageant where I won first place overall. I then went onto compete at Mrs. WI America pageant representing Milwaukee County in November winning several awards including “Most Photogenic” . For now though, here are some photos from those events -> http://www.jenniferkendallphotography.com/contestants/mrsamerica/index.php?year=2013#top (if you click under “Contests”) or see below->https://www.dropbox.com/sh/vzxqcg2rthxhxr9/AADiZQVnJRfKO-YUbGHW0LXha?dl=0 In October after completing both my degrees, I decided to go ahead and start grad school again pursuing a master’s degree focused on International Development Policy Studies + Social Entrepreneurship at the University Below is a long blog post about 3D printing. The article below, on 3D Printing has been written by the world’s leading journal of nanotechnology and nanoscience, NANO LETTERS (the Journal of record for Nanoscale Science and Engineering). It was published in their November issue this year as part of an interview with Professor James Heath from Caltech who is one of the pioneers of the field. The article covers many aspects that are important to those interested in 3D printing. Enjoy!
