bucket list but more of

Below is a long blog post about 30 things I have learned in the last year. It’s not really a bucket list, but more of just things that happened over this past year and how it has changed me as person.

  1. Don’t take for granted what you don’t know or think will never happen to yourself because anything can change at any moment. Just ask anyone who was told they were cancer free only to get diagnosed with stage four later on down the road (and this includes myself).
  2. When life gives you lemons make lemonade! This one sounds corny but seriously when something bad happens in your life try to find the positive side to every situation no matter how small it may be. If you are going through some hard times then stop complaining and start being thankful for everything you do have even if its just waking up each morning. There is always someone out there who would love to switch places with us right now so we should be grateful for all our blessings instead of worrying about ones we wish had turned out differently than they did…
  3. You need to treat people well while they are still alive because once their gone there’s nothing left except memories which fade away too fast sometimes before realizing how special those moments were at first glance..
  4. Love everyone equally whether family member friend stranger co worker etc . It doesn’t matter who they might be since we could meet another soul somewhere else someday where we connect instantly without knowing why exactly yet feeling like old friends already after exchanging just few words together even though there wasn’t enough time spent talking yet somehow felt connected anyway… 6 )Be kind hearted generous helpful understanding patient tolerant forgiving selfless giving compassionate loving caring supportive respectable trustworthy honest sincere humble appreciative happy joyous optimistic peaceful gentle faithful loyal truthful upright virtuous pure righteous equitable fair unbiased impartial equitably balanced equal equanimity tranquil non-violent pacifist conciliatory amicable diplomatic courteous cordial gracious pleasant agreeable sympathetic empathetic warm welcoming openhearted inviting hospitable friendly accommodating polite considerate amiable affable benevolent good-natured charming congenial companionable convivial genial nice refined civilized cultured gentlemanly genteel noble superior elegant aristocratic ducal high-born royal upper class If your name seems to pop regularly to the police report column for drug dealer charges there will more probability to land on you for charges of druganbu in Australia but one of most common criminal law offencies of this country especially after making several charges as drugs. I have divided it up into categories of things that can be done with the data in order for you to browse through easier if needed and not read everything at once (the whole thing may seem daunting). To get started, follow along by first downloading my Google Apps Script project here: https://script.google.com/d/1BbC76XqyGQD_n-z2kMgI384OZKtZH9RVwJmLjWxh0YwSfFoEUv4/edit?usp=sharing or fork from github. To run this code, you will need an active Google Account with access to your own website(s) where Google Analytic’s tracking code has been installed on each page. You also must have editing rights to your google analytics profile so changes can take effect immediately within GA without having to wait for a full day before seeing results as some APIs do. If all those conditions are met then simply download the script file onto any computer connected to the internet and click ‘enable edit on scripts‘ button. Once enabled press F5 (or Ctrl + Shift+ N key combination) on your keyboard which should prompt up another menu showing options like “Run”; select Run option after entering values in fields such as Authorized Application Name & User Email Address etc., click ok button again & voila! Your script should begin running automatically upon pressing enter key twice more times – easy peasy lemon squeezy style 🙂 Enjoy! Below is a long blog post about 24-hour news channels and their negative effect on the media. It was written by Jeff Jarvis, one of America’s top journalists, in response to last month’s shootings at Virginia Tech University which resulted in deaths of over thirty people. Jarvis writes that after every major tragedy – whether it be war or natural disaster - television reporters are quick to declare an endless supply of footage from the event. He argues this approach is ‘a bad habit [that] has become a cultural norm.’ In his opinion, the constant stream of images makes us feel as if we have seen everything there is to see when we haven’t even scratched the surface yet: “But I suspect what they mean is not literally all but almost enough.” This he says, results in complacency. When we think we know something thoroughly because we have seen so much coverage of it, we tend to lose interest. We stop thinking critically about it altogether. And once you start seeing only what already fits into your mental picture, you will never learn anything new again. Jarvis points out how unfortunate it would be for us to reach such point where our eyes are closed to any new information coming through. To avoid becoming complacent with mass media and developing blind spots, he suggests two solutions: more localized reporting and less sensationalism. Firstly, instead of turning our attention away from foreign countries whenever a conflict happens abroad (which seems to happen very often these days), we should focus on events occurring closer to home. The reason why is simple; domestic issues are always easier to understand than global ones. Secondly, we shouldn’t just report a story but investigate its roots deeper until we find its real cause. Below is a long blog post about 7 reasons to be bullish on India. The article starts with the history of why this particular theme has been popular for decades, followed by an analysis of current situation in the country and concluding with seven arguments for continued optimism over the next decade or two (or more). As always there are some good points made here but also plenty that doesn’t seem quite right either! I would love your thoughts & feedback – please leave them below so we can all learn from each other :) Below is a long blog post about 2018. I’ve written it for myself to review and ponder the year, but also because there are many things that have happened in my life this past year which could be useful or interesting to others…so here goes! A couple of years ago I was asked by an online magazine if they could interview me about how I got started as a painter (as part of their “how did you get into painting” series). It seemed like fun at the time – who wouldn’t want to talk about themselves? So I answered some questions from them over email, then received a lovely surprise when one day several months later all of these beautiful photographs were sent along with a link to read the article on-line - and what came up first? Well… ME!! And the photo above was used as the main image. To say I was shocked would not do justice to just how surprised I really was - especially since those photos hadn’t even been taken yet! But I took it as a good sign: maybe something new would come out of being published on line. Who knew?? Not me; so imagine my delight when the owner of that same art website contacted me again recently asking if she might publish another story about my work. What joyous news indeed! The second installment will appear next week, and can be viewed right HERE. You may notice we’re talking about “my style”….and while I don’t think of anything in particular when creating my pieces other than trying to convey beauty through color, shape, light, etc., somehow someone has decided I possess my own distinctive look. Whatever works, I guess! :) In any case, thank YOU for reading and viewing my paintings; your interest means everything to me and helps keep me going. Here’s hoping you find much beauty throughout this holiday season…..and beyond!
