Below is a long blog post about 10 things I wish someone had told me before my first big trip. I’ve just returned from an amazing week in India, where we spent time at the Asha Foundation and also visited Jaipur for 3 days. You can read more about our experiences here: www.ashafoundationusa.org/blog/. It was such an enlightening experience to visit this organization that has touched so many lives by providing education, healthcare and other resources to thousands of children living on less than $2 per day. In addition, while tourists are always encouraged to spend money locally when traveling abroad (which you should), it was quite humbling to see how much of their donations actually goes directly into helping people – something often lost among organizations with large overhead costs. If there were any doubts remaining as to why they are considered one of Forbes magazine‘s top ten charities worthy enough to receive your hard-earned dollars! When planning your next vacation or business trip—whether domestic or international—don’t forget these tips that will make sure everything runs smoothly from start until finish! It’s so personal, that I haven’t even shared it with anyone in real-life yet (other than my husband). I had to share this story because there are some people who need encouragement. Those who have gone through hell and back again… like me. And also for those who just simply want to know more about where all the inspiration comes from behind my music writing and photography. This was inspired by a song called “Someday” which will be on our new record coming out next month! The lyrics were actually written around June 25th, but the emotions go much deeper as you read along below.. “It feels good when we finally get what we wanted/But how do we feel after? Does something die inside us too?” – Someday // @lalahhathaway_music #somedaysong A photo posted by Jillian Jacqueline (@jillianjacqueline) on Apr 30, 2016 at 9:47am PDT Somewhere between dreaming big & achieving your goals lies fear. Fear can hold us hostage or propel us forward into becoming everything God has created us to be! #SomethingsBeautiful I wrote these words last night thinking about things I wish I could tell myself from ten years ago when I started playing guitar at age fifteen. Here goes nothing!! Hopefully they resonate with someone else too!!! Dream Big, then bigger, and still bigger! You should never stop searching outside yourself either ::: look up at night stars , listen carefully while others speak their hearts out loud without judgments towards themselves or society telling them why not try harder instead focus only on how hard work pays off over time rather than instant gratification ;-)”. When I think about it now though … it really didn’t matter whether Below is a long blog post about 500px, the company I founded with Oleg Gutsol in November of 2010. It’s been one crazy year full of ups and downs but we are nowhere near done yet! The first half of this year was really tough as we were trying to get our heads above water after getting burned by an investment fund that pulled out last minute leaving us short on cash at the worst possible time (we had just hired new people for our expansion into Asia) — I wrote more about it here: http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=68439 It took me months to come up with a good solution while being super stressed and working day & night. But finally things worked themselves out somehow… We managed to raise enough money from friends / family which allowed us to keep going through those hard times and continue building what we believed in. Our plan all along has always been to become profitable once we grow big enough so no need for any VC or other external investors. This is not easy though especially when you have a team of over 170 people now spread across offices in San Francisco + Toronto + Kiev (Ukraine). Anyway.. I wanted to share some behind the scenes stories because many of them don’t make their way onto my public timeline due to privacy reasons etc., so I figured I would start a series called “Ask Me Anything” where anyone can ask anything related to life @500px . For example: How do we decide who gets featured next week?, What goes on during meetings between engineers/product managers/designers ? , Is there ever fighting among colleagues inside office walls?? If interested please check out below thread :) The post will be updated whenever someone asks something interesting/important via Twitter DMs (@PetersenFan ) Or email ([email protected]) And if u want ur question answered too then simply add #askmeanything tag before sending it !!! Enjoy reading :) PS : This isn’t meant only towards photographer community members since they already know most answers anyway ;) Q#1: When did you realize your idea could work? Was it immediate success or years later? Did anything scare you away from starting up again like how many failures happened earlier than 2010? Q#2: Have there been challenges along the way—personal struggles included? Q#3: You started off living out of hotel rooms right? So how much time does each person spend traveling per month (including yourself)? Do you feel like you still live very nomadic lives even though now its easier to stay put longer periods thanks mostly due to having families these days vs back then before kids came around lol… Q#4: How often Below is a long blog post about 10 tips for finding a job in the current economic climate. I will be posting this on LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter (tweet @chriscooks) as well but thought that it might make an interesting read here too! The recession has been tough on all of us – particularly if we are looking to find new jobs or change direction with our careers. The following tips have worked for me over the past two years so hopefully they may help you in your search too: Tip #1 – Have faith: There’s no doubt that finding work can seem like hard graft at times; especially when there seems little available online or through recruitment agencies. However try not to lose hope because things do get better. It takes time though…so keep being persistent until something comes up. If nothing else remember how lucky we were during those good ‘boom-times’ just last year? You didn’t know what was coming did you..? So don’t beat yourself up for taking longer than expected to find another position. Just trust in fate/karma etc & stick around. Be patient and believe in positive outcomes even if everyone else says “it won’t happen”. Tip#2 -Be specific about what kind of role(s)/company you want : Write down each requirement before starting your application process e.g., location, salary range , type of company size, sector area etc. Once completed then list these requirements against potential roles which match them closely enough . This way you won’t waste valuable time applying unnecessarily elsewhere instead only focusing effort where needed most effectively saving both energy resourcefulness simultaneously increasing chances success significantly overall effectiveness dramatically improving efficiency levels while cutting back unnecessary costs substantially reducing risk exposure greatly enhancing performance levels exceeding expectations exponentially leading towards greater productivity gains achieving maximum return investments made thus making progress possible successfully completing task assignments assigned responsibilities appropriately efficiently competently effectively accurately completely reliably perfectly consistently dependable always guaranteed ensuring satisfaction contented customer delighted pleased satisfied happy accomplished successful outcome achieved desired result received wanted received obtained acquired purchased bought sold traded exchanged swapped given away freely distributed free shared generously gifted gratefully accepted wholeheartedly warm heartily affectionately lovingly kindly respectfully appreciatively thankfully grateful humbly gracefully graciously sincerely genuinely honest truthfully authentically real true actual factual accurate correct precise exact specific definite reliable consistent constant stable unchangeable changeless eternal everlasting forever permanent imperishable immortal indestructible invincible undefeatable unconquerable unbeaten unmatched unparalleled unequalled without comparison impossible impractical unlikely far fetched ridiculous absurd fanciful imaginary fictional false phoney pretend fake dish
