Below is a long blog post about 5G, the Internet of Things (IoT), and machine-to-machine communications. What you may not know: I’ve been involved in some way with all this since before it became fashionable to talk about IoT. In fact, my first involvement was as one of those who helped make it possible for AT&T to provide cellular service to remote areas where DSL would never reach. That’s right – when we lived out on our rural mountain top, there were no phone lines or electricity nearby so we had to get creative. Anyway, while most people are only just now hearing about what their futures will hold due to these new technologies, I have been intimately familiar with them for over ten years! The good news? You can use that same knowledge today without having to wait until your next car comes equipped with driverless capabilities….. Below is a long blog post about 2019’s first quarter. So if you are not into that, please scroll down to the bottom of this article and enjoy the “Quick Fact” section for my favorite books from January - March! It’s been another busy three months since I last wrote on here, but then again what else would we expect? That means it was time once more to take stock and reflect on how things have gone during those three months (January –March). My usual practice in these times has become writing up a longer piece about them all at some point mid-way through April; however, with everything going on around me currently, there were just too many other matters demanding my attention as well. So instead of posting something longer, let’s do a quick recap: Firstly, I am happy to report that, despite having lost most of February due to an upper respiratory tract virus which turned out to be bronchitis, I managed to read eight novels during Q1 of 2019. The four standouts among those reads were: “The Secret Commonwealth” by Philip Pullman, “Girl A” by Emma Cline, “I Know This Much Is True” by Wally Lamb and “Stories For Nighttime And Some For Day” by Ben Loory. All of those will get their own mini reviews soon enough, so watch out for those. Aside from reading, I also got some work done towards the two projects mentioned in my previous update. One of those projects finally saw its completion recently when I sent off the final draft of my book, “How To Become An Instant Expert On Any Topic In Seconds Flat!” It should hopefully hit Amazon within the next couple of weeks. The second project involved the continuation of my website redesign process, although nowhere near being finished yet unfortunately… Hopefully, though, one day soon. Moving right along, as far as TV shows go, season five of Netflix‘s “House Of Cards”, dropped back onto our screens earlier than expected, and I can happily say that after binge watching the entire thing over the course of one weekend, I ended up loving every minute of it. While season six won’t come anywhere close to matching anything featured across seasons four or five, even they did leave a lot to be desired compared to where they started, I still enjoyed the way things went throughout this fifth run. There really isn’t much else to add to that at least because I feel like season five didn’t offer us any real surprises beyond the fact that Claire Underwood remains utterly ruthless, no matter who she might need to step on to get her way in life. Still, overall, I thought that they wrapped up certain storylines pretty satisfactorily while throwing others straight under the bus in order to give both Below is a long blog post about 10 tips for staying focused, productive and positive during the week. Below is a long blog post about 3D printing that I wrote for the Loughborough University Library blog. We were asked to write something on our own area of expertise, and so this was my response: As part of my research into online learning materials (and specifically Open Educational Resources) in Higher Education, I have been investigating the use of various forms of technology to enhance teaching and learning within the HE context – which has led me onto a wealth of information about 3D printing! And although it may seem like an irrelevant or even frivolous subject matter when you consider all the other issues we need to be concerned with as libraries – such as copyright, accessibility, openness etc – there are some really interesting implications related to 3D printing for us here at library level. In fact, one could argue that these implications may also extend beyond what we do as librarians, but rather to how librarianship itself can benefit from developments in new technologies – and if we don’t start thinking outside of the box now then where will we end up? So let’s look more closely… A recent report by Wohlers Associates estimated that worldwide expenditure on 3D printers reached $187 million last year alone [Source], while another study found that over half of manufacturing companies believe they would save money through using additive layering techniques such as those used by 3D printers[Source]. Although many people see the potential uses for 3D printing as being largely confined to industrial production lines, others see its applications extending much further afield; such as within education and healthcare sectors. Indeed, there are already several examples of educational institutions embracing 3D printing, including schools who have begun utilising 3D scanning and modelling software along with their school’s very own 3D printer(s), enabling pupils to create virtual models of objects prior to physically building them out of material substances. This approach appears to allow students to better understand concepts relating to engineering principles, mathematics and architecture among others – whilst simultaneously giving teachers greater insight into individual student progress levels than ever before. Furthermore, medical professionals around the globe are increasingly relying upon 3D printing technology in order to quickly produce customised prosthetics or artificial organs tailored precisely towards each patient’s needs; thus providing improved treatment options compared with traditional methods available today . Clearly then ,we must acknowledge just how revolutionary innovations like 3d-printing could potentially prove themselves across multiple If your name seems to pop regularly to the police report column for drug dealer charges there will more probability to land on you for charges of druganbu in Australia but one of most common criminal law offencies of this country especially after making several charges as drugs.
