Below is a long blog post about 41.6% of the world’s population, as it affects me. For those who don’t know what I mean by “41.6%, or 250 million people”, that number represents the percentage of women in South Asia (India + Pakistan) who were married before age fourteen and are living today. That means they got pregnant for the first time when they were thirteen years old - which is still legal under Islamic law throughout most of this part of the world: India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Indonesia… This isn’t just a question for human rights activists; it has huge implications for economic development, too! For one thing, it makes young mothers more likely to drop out of school than older ones, so even if we educate these girls once they get past puberty, there will be fewer and fewer graduates with each passing year unless their children grow up educated, too. The resulting brain drain could slow down the rate at which countries develop economically. As well, according to an Oxford University study reported on here [pdf], early childbearing reduces the chance of survival from maternal causes alone by 78%. And lastly, having many children at an early age tends to keep poor families stuck in poverty because they can never build sufficient assets to lift themselves out of dire circumstances. This issue also comes up often with immigrants from Muslim-majority nations such as Somalia and Nigeria, where women may face arranged marriages before reaching puberty; although most do not endure forced sex during marriage as happens in much of South Asia, I have heard several stories from refugees now resettling in Minnesota telling how they were unable to control when, whether, or whom they would marry – and then later divorce was impossible without serious financial consequences. So yes, while I am focusing on this problem within Islamic societies specifically right now, it does exist elsewhere among other groups whose customary laws treat females less equally than males. My point really is simply that all cultures need to examine why some of them allow children to become parents at shockingly young ages despite being aware of modern medicine’s ability to prevent unwanted births through contraception and abortion services. We should stop pretending like such behavior doesn’t hurt our fellow humans – instead let us embrace new approaches toward healthcare delivery that prioritize improving quality over quantity and give everyone access regardless of gender, race/ethnic background or national origin.* This statement refers only to my own opinion regarding public policy matters related but unrelated to religion itself - no offense intended against any specific faith tradition nor its followers/adherents alike!!* **** Below is a long blog post about 2016. In an effort to keep things simple and easy, we’ve decided to send out our annual year in review as it has been done for the past five years. My wife and children had already arrived earlier that week after spending one month traveling from our home base in Northern California all around Southeast Asia including Thailand and Vietnam with stops in Cambodia, Laos, Indonesia, Singapore and Malaysia before finally arriving in the Philippines. We were moving to Angeles City, Pampanga where we would be living while my new bosses got me settled down and ready for work. A few days later they flew us out for three weeks training in Hong Kong which included a two-week course learning how to sell investments overseas called International Financial Services Training Institute or IFSTI. After returning back to the Philippines, we began our lives together again in Pampang but shortly thereafter moved to Angeles to be closer to their offices located downtown next door to Robinsons Department Store along CM Recto Street. Prior to leaving California, I was given a list of things needed for me when I started work so as not to cause any inconvenience during my first day which included items like business cards printed up by my employer’s graphic designer who also happened to live nearby so he could drop them off the night before; pants & shirts made specifically for working salesmen since most people wear jeans everywhere else in the world; a pair of running shoes because I didn’t own a single set prior to moving abroad; etc… The following paragraph will explain why these little details mattered more than anything else: As soon as possible upon arrival at our new house in Angeles City - known affectionately among expats simply “AC” – I found myself having lunch with two other newly hired employees whose last names begin with L and H respectively. While enjoying conversation about what each person did for fun outside office hours such questions arose regarding leisure activities including sports teams followed locally plus favorite restaurants within walking distance yet surprisingly no topic ever came up involving movies shown recently seen previously discussed widely debated topics ranging from politics religion war peace globalization education family marriage divorce death taxation immigration crime drugs sex scandals corruption racism homophobia xenophobia nationality citizenship passports visas foreigners ex patriots military defense diplomacy human rights civil liberties free speech freedom censorship media bias government transparency accountability openness secrecy surveillance security privacy espionage hacking cybercrime terrorism counterterrorism state sponsored terror Below is a long blog post about 40+ years of experience with BJDs. Hello! I’m new to this forum and very excited after finding it, so bear with me if some things seem redundant or unclear-I just need to get them out in one place since they’ve been buzzing around my head for several days now lol… I hope you enjoy reading as much as I did writing x) Feel free to ask any questions or give feedback on anything that seems relevant! It means alot to me that people actually want to read what I have to say :3 And yes, there are photos at the end (but not pictures of all dolls)… So yeah here we go~ My first memories revolving around Blythe were when I was sixteen/seventeen? My sister had gotten herself an original Sunny from Ebay back then which she brought home, but because she was afraid her parents wouldn’t like seeing her playing with something ‘too childish,’ she decided to hide it away in our closet where she never really looked again… The only reason why I ever saw her play with it was simply because she would bring it downstairs into our living room once in a blue moon to show off its cuteness for me and other guests who came over ;__; Needless to say though, none of us thought too much of it even though we enjoyed looking at it whenever possible… After graduating high school however, everything changed quite drastically – both myself along with many others fell deeper than ever before under their spell due largely thanks largely in part mainly mostly almost entirely solely virtually exclusively primarily absolutely definitely 100% percent of course without question undoubtedly unquestionably indisputable indubitably totally completely definitely surely positively without doubt without exception without fail without question without reservation wholehearted heartfelt honest genuine real true actual legitimate bona fide absolute certain sure definite solid certified confident clear convincing dependable dependable confirmed correct exact firm fixed guaranteed impeccable impossible irrefutable official precise reliable rock solid safe secure stable steady sturdy trustworthy unshakable unchanging veritable valid validated sound solidified authentic credible well-established respectful honorary reverential adoring admiring appreciative praising glorifying worshiping veneration acclaimed esteemed idolized idealized highly regarded held in great regard seen as worthy worships venerates has faith in regards to thinks holds dear cherishes cares deeply loves likes favors enjoys supports believes advocates upholds defends maintains protects stands behind keeps up looks forward to always being pleased by wants nothing more than desires absolutely needs wants no less wishes yearns dreams fantasizes hopes prayers asks wonders pines cries sheds tears begs pleads demands ins Below is a long blog post about 2016. I will be breaking it into several parts and publish them over the next few days, so you can read at your own pace! I’ve been going through my photos of our year on Instagram (as well as some other social media) to see what we did in each month this past year. It was fun reviewing those memories…and painful to realize how much time has gone by since then! But that also made me feel excited for all the new things coming up – like Christmas and New Year celebrations with family here in Canada and back home in Hong Kong. We haven’t done any holiday travel yet but we are hoping to do one trip together just us two before the end of December. There are still lots more adventures ahead and I cannot wait to share everything with you guys again soon!
