I’m trying to include links and references for all of the points made below, but it will be an ongoing process as my notes are not yet complete (or organized). I am hoping that this post might become somewhat useful in helping people understand some basics about additive manufacturing/3d printing and what it can do – and perhaps help someone decide whether they want to invest in their own equipment or not.
