At first glance, FSOG appeared innocent enough; however, after clicking into the book description link, all hell broke loose! Although the summary section described the main character Anastasia Steele as being naïve and virginal, many other aspects of the plot line seemed far from conventional. For example, Anastasia meets Christian Grey – the billionaire CEO of his own company – while interviewing him for her college newspaper. This meeting leads to a job offer wherein Ana will act as his personal assistant. Even though Mr. Grey insists upon remaining professional during working hours, he eventually admits to having fantasies involving bondage. He then proposes an agreement whereby Ana will be submissive and sexually available whenever he wishes, although he does promise no rough play without consent. To say things get steamy would be putting it mildly. In fact, according to Ana, every sexual encounter between herself and Christian ends up leaving her feeling like she wants to vomit afterwards. Yet despite her protestations against certain acts, Ana ultimately agrees to become involved because she believes doing so could lead to her happily ever after ending. Then immediately following thru w/ signing autographs n taking pictures w/ fans afterwards ;-) This year however proved slightly different since due 2 popularity demand caused lines stretching out past main entrance doorway walls resulting frustration amongst crowd members waiting patiently outside trying their best attempt at getting inside venue building itself without success :-(.
