When we were stopped by police back home, you never knew how your situation would play out: they could take you somewhere else to question you; they could let you go with a warning after searching through everything in our pockets and bags. In the UK however, stopping people seems like something very strange for them to do. At most there may occasionally be one policeman standing near some street lights along a sidewalk talking into his radio while he watches over the whole area.
