Below is a long blog post about 2015. The year that was, and isn’t over yet! I have not managed to write up the last few days of December and early January in my journal so you will just have to live with it being written down here instead……. I started off by having one of those New Year’s Eve dinners out at our local pub where they do an excellent buffet on these occasions - we had chicken pie for starters (one each), mushrooms and peas followed by fish fingers & chips, Yorkshire pudding, baked potatoes etc., all finished off with custard tarts and trifle….. We always go there but this time were joined by some friends from church who are still relatively new to our area. The food was delicious as usual, although it took us rather longer than expected getting home because it seemed everyone else wanted to be going through a particular part of town which meant that lots of traffic lights held us back until eventually someone got fed up waiting behind them and went round the houses via several other roads before returning once more to the main road…….. It wasn’t till well after midnight when we finally arrived home again…… Sunday morning saw us attending worship at the Methodist Church, then lunch afterwards as we usually like to do, this week sharing soup and bread together whilst discussing what God has been doing amongst ourselves during the past month or two since we met previously. As ever, it brought into focus how busy people can get sometimes especially towards the end of the school term or if you happen to have children/grandchildren who are starting college courses.
