two posts because otherwise Blogger

Below is a long blog post about 50 books I read in the year. I’ve had to divide it into two posts because otherwise Blogger will just not let me publish anything longer than one post per day! I didn’t keep track of how many hours or days these took, but they were all worthwhile reads and I found them enjoyable as well as interesting on different levels - some quite academic; others more popular science/biography style titles. A few of my favourites have been highlighted below: The Evolutionary Workshop by David Sloan Wilson Animal Spirits – How human psychology drives the economy, financial times review here Economics Does Not Lie-But People Do (New York Times) Here are five reasons why economists make bad predictions, according to Daniel Houser at Vanderbilt University (and author of an article with similar title published elsewhere).

  1. They overestimate the importance of data that are readily available. Economic forecasters often rely too heavily on models built around variables such as inflation rates, interest rates and exchange rates — which can be observed easily, but may be less important for what happens next. In contrast, more attention should go toward predicting nonobservable factors like growth potential, business cycle behavior, investor confidence and consumer sentiment…..
  2. They forget that people don’t always act rationally. One classic mistake made by macroeconomists is treating consumers as “homo oeconomicus,” who behave as if maximizing their utility when faced with limited resources. But most economic agents actually respond irrationally under certain circumstances, whether due to selfishness or fearful conservatism…..
  3. The problem isn’t the model; It’s the assumptions used to build the model. For example, central bank policy makers assume that consumers are forward looking, meaning that they react immediately to changes in monetary policy rather than waiting until later to spend money saved during periods of low unemployment …but this assumption is only true up to a point.”
  4. There aren’t enough smart people working together. Macroeconmists tend to work alone and develop models without consulting each other, so there is no collective wisdom gained from years of experience”
  5. Forecasters often lack access to reliable information. “It was amazing how much time you could spend talking to someone,” he said recently, “only to realize afterward that you knew nothing.” Sociobiologists have also been accused of racist and sexist tendencies. But Mr. Wilson rejects those charges. He sees Darwinian natural selection operating everywhere – including within our own brains. In his view, humans evolved as social animals, living in tribes whose success depended upon cooperation. Thus, men and women differ biologically because evolution has favored those Below is a long blog post about 4 years of my life. In it I talk about the ups and downs, lessons learned along with some tips for anyone thinking about going to college in Japan or just interested in what daily student life can be like! A lot has changed since that time however so if you are planning on coming over here soon make sure you check out our latest article: How To Study Abroad In Tokyo! Below is a long blog post about 1234567890, a project by the artist group 100% Designers, which has been touring in Germany since July. I wrote it with my friend Alexandra Kozma who works as an art historian and cultural journalist at KulturNews (http://www.kulturnews-online.de). But that didn’t stop us from writing! ;) It will give you some insight into how artists work together across borders and within borders…a subject If your name seems to pop regularly to the police report column for drug dealer charges there will more probability to land on you for charges of druganbu in Australia but one of most common criminal law offencies of this country especially after making several charges as drugs. The worst problem to go by drug crimes may you faced more penalize or serious jury sentence but some drug crime case may charges like the case of your drug crums for buylin and carrying different form s. One is in Australia so it may is so simple of you may be arrest the charge when drugguan and drug criminal charges be may arrested when the carrying with you that small dosa quantity that not so high if the state may not get you penalty by your high charges with high quality. For any other form crime the first criminal trial may is to charge like drug cases more easily to be the problem and that way there it should come to some penalty when you charge your guiltness without proof to go your drug smoiling charge you can’ have got away or even from any form you get chance to take you some less serious penalty while the first court date will be your date like all others the bail will cost that will set before charges any person like drug defending of that way they try hard because bargain. Melbane Crs. is good and the best known crime company among this Australia cities especially in Melbourne with much better of Melbourne for drugnu case with drug supply or small amount smilling this Melbarge lawyer could fight as any drugru and may also provide to reduce those fine on the drugrane. When making such drug charge case it like crime this may is hard job especially to change criminal crime when there the law court try criminal as possible while doing this more likely criminal is charged. Crime for many of case crsu or may go your legal way even this form serious case when your some less penalty to fight crime charges with your ml very close to my heart. Enjoy reading!!! xxx Katja Fischer & Alexandra Kozma Below is a long blog post about 10 things I have learned in my first semester of college, written by fellow freshman Olivia D’Ambrosio. By: Olivia Amanda D’ambrosio My name is Olivia and here are the top ten lessons that I have learned so far this year at the University of Rhode Island College of Pharmacy! I thought I was prepared for the challenges that would come with being away from home but there were some obstacles along the way! Here they go…
  1. It can be really scary to meet new people Meeting new friends has been one of the most nerve racking parts of attending school since you don’t know what it will feel like when you arrive on campus or if anyone else feels the same as you do about meeting strangers all day everyday. You just hope everyone else feels comfortable enough around each other where no one feels uncomfortable talking back-and-forth without hesitation (or awkwardness). If not then maybe try again next time? But even though these experiences seem stressful sometimes due largely because we haven’t gotten used yet; after only three weeks into class already i found myself making lots more acquaintances than expected especially within our own program group which made me realize how easy life gets once u become familiarized w/ everyone around us :) #newfriendsmadeeasy
  2. Everyone works differently This may sound weird, but I am learning that everybody has their own unique style to studying. Some students prefer silence while others enjoy listening to music or watching television shows during study sessions. While still others thrive off social interactions such as conversations over lunch breaks between classes which helps them retain information better than ever before! There isn’t necessarily right answer here—it depends entirely upon who YOU happen to be :) So take note: your best bet always lies somewhere between finding out exactly HOW someone learns AND figuring out WHAT motivates him/her personally too…this could mean anything ranging anywhere from food rewards up through cash prizes provided by professors themselves if possible ;) The bottom line remains however–if u want something done properly & efficiently then ur gonna need those two critical components working together effectively:) Good luck out there folks!! And remember never forget yourself - be true unto thy self always..
  3. Take care of your health and wellbeing Taking care of oneself should always remain an important priority regardless whether ur currently living alone/away from family members etcetera . This means eating nutritious diets packed full vitamins minerals proteins carbohydrates fats vegetables fruit juices water exercise sleep hygiene brushing flossing baths showers shaving grooming haircuts manicures pedicures makeup clothing accessories jewelry sho Below is a long blog post about 2018, the year we turned our business upside down and made it all happen. A good place to start is this article on how I got started in real estate investing. In December of 2017 my partner and I decided that if we wanted to take our company from $5M-6M/year to $30M+ per year then we would have to make some major changes. There are only so many hours you can work every week before your health suffers (I am at risk for heart disease) or burnout sets in. We were not willing to sacrifice any more time with family than necessary. So as we sat around the fireplace over Christmas break drinking coffee and eating chocolates we came up with a plan: Hire great people – pay them well. This meant increasing salaries by anywhere between 40%-90%, depending on who was hired. In addition, we offered signing bonuses and full relocation expenses for anyone outside of Georgia moving here. Get rid of unnecessary things – like meetings! We don’t need three different morning standups each day across two offices. Just one will do fine. And maybe no standing ones either? Build better processes – let people focus on doing their jobs rather than worrying about whether they should be sending out emails when there isn’t anything pressing happening right now because everything goes into an automatic queue anyway…that kinda thing too though sometimes emails still get lost so lets keep track with Trello boards etcetera.. Let go of fears – stop being afraid of change; stop trying new stuff just because someone else did something similar once upon a time somewhere far away from where ever anybody currently lives today but tomorrow might bring different experiences altogether so what does it matter anyway The first part of this process was figuring out which areas needed improvement most urgently (and also identifying those areas). Once these had been identified — usually through conversations with employees themselves regarding specific problems encountered during daily operations—we could begin putting together plans for resolving said issues while simultaneously making sure everyone involved felt comfortable enough within their roles so that no one feels left behind due solely towards lack understanding how things worked prior thus resulting in feelings such frustration anger disappointment resentfulness sadness hopeless despair desperation depression anxiety panic terror shock disbelief bewildered confusion distress agony torment pain suffering grievance hardship strife misery trouble calamity catastrophe debacle fiasco collapse ruin crash fall fail mishap slip oversight omission blunder error mistake screwup bungle botch stumble dropping ball missing catching falling losing failing forgetting remembering knowing misunderstanding overlooking underestimating misjudging exaggerating diminishing minimizing reducing enlarging expand
