If you want to skip the background information, scroll down to the section that starts with ‘The future’ I think it was around August or September last year when I first started thinking about this post (although I did not know how much of one there would be). It has taken me almost three months because so many things have happened since then but also because writing about myself can feel like an overwhelming task at times – especially if you are as self-critical as I am. But after some reflection on where we are now and what might happen in the next few years, I decided it is time for another update. This will serve two purposes: Firstly, to give our readers insight into my thoughts regarding the present state of TWiT and secondly, to look forward at what could lie ahead in terms of new projects. So here goes… One thing I often notice whenever people read these posts is their astonishment that I spend most of my waking hours working on something that doesn’t make money directly or even indirectly. In fact, I had to explain that many things don’t generate revenue until they reach critical mass before I started receiving angry emails from people who were upset that “this guy” didn’t do his job well enough! While making money isn’t bad per se, having no income at all means your expenses become limited by only what you earn rather than having unlimited funds available which makes life easier. However, being able to pay staff salaries while still covering costs such as renting office space etc., requires more effort. That said though; despite not always achieving everything perfectly yet somehow managing to maintain financial stability throughout every economic downturn since starting back in late 2005/early 2006 — sometimes even profiting slightly during those periods too — I wouldn’t change anything else either way anymore because without passion behind each endeavor nothing works properly anyway regardless whether profitability plays any part within its framework initially.
