writer people often ask how

Posted on Mar 28, 2021

Below is a long blog post about 2013. I’ve written it because, in my own experience as an author and writer, people often ask how they can improve their writing or achieve success with their fiction… If you want to write better, then read more books on the craft of writing (see below for some suggestions). You need to learn from others who have achieved what you are trying to do – study them closely and see if there isn’t something you could incorporate into your work that might make yours stand out even further than before. It also helps when reading other authors so try not just those within your genre but outside too; this will give insight into what makes good story-telling across different genres. Also remember: practice really does make perfect! Keep working away at improving yourself until one day someone else says “wow!” That person may never come along though unless YOU keep striving towards becoming THE BEST WRITER EVER!! So get busy practicing now because tomorrow is another chance waiting around corner number two.” You are already familiar enough with me by now to know that every year has its ups and downs. Some years we lose loved ones while others bring new family members home; our jobs change dramatically sometimes overnight leaving us feeling like we don’t belong anymore where once felt safe doing what was expected of us daily without question nor hesitation . Sometimes life throws curveball after unexpected event which leaves no choice but accept things exactly how they turn out whether positive negative neutral etcetera et cetera ad infinitum ad nauseam ect.. But through all these changes both large small big little whatever comes next one thing remains true always will remain constant forever evermore & beyond : We Are All In This Together ! And together means together right? Yes yes indeedy darned straight up yep sirree bobby dino !! What matters most here today tomorrow yesterday last week month ago decade century millennium lifetime existence period point blank full stop exclamation mark ! No matter how many times we tell ourselves otherwise each time feels brand spankin fresh again woot woohoo yeahhhh!!! There were plenty of high points throughout 2019. The first half saw three novels published—The Last Days Of Night , The Rules Do Not Apply , and Lights Out —all receiving critical acclaim, including starred reviews from Publishers Weekly Magazine and Kirkus Reviews respectively (plus one five-star review) ; four short stories appeared online at Clarkesworld , Electric Literature , Tor dot com , Buzzfeed Books …and elsewhere; ALA Notable Book Award nominations came pouring in for these same publications plus Library Journal Best Reviewed SF&Fantasy picks; multiple book club discussions took place nationwide via Goodreads groups such as Women Who Read Science Fiction/Fantasy For Below is a long blog post about 2014, but it’s worth reading. I always like to take some time at the end of every year and think through what I have accomplished over that past twelve months…and where do you want to go from here? For me this has been an incredible year! It was my first full calendar year as a full-time artist since graduating college in 2007 (a big milestone). And though it wasn’t necessarily financially successful or all together “successful” by other standards, there were many valuable lessons learned along the way. One thing for sure: it took a ton of work; more than any job I had before. But then again, I have never worked harder or longer hours on anything else either. This was truly one of those years when God taught me so much about Himself. He showed up in new ways and His faithfulness stood out even brighter because things didn’t turn out exactly how they should have according to my plan. At times, I found myself feeling completely lost and discouraged wondering if I would ever make sense of everything going wrong around me. Looking back now, I see that it really did happen for a reason – it helped lead me closer to Christ, to know him better and love him deeper. That alone is something I will forever be grateful for. Below is a long blog post about 21st century learning. The ideas are not new, but the presentation and language used by Mr. David F. Gallo in this TED talk makes it worth reading again (and sharing). What’s so great? Well first of all he presents some stunning examples of the use of technology to enhance our lives: from Google Earth to the Mars Rover. Secondly, his perspective is very positive - you can tell that he truly believes we humans have an amazing ability to solve problems with technology at hand! It reminds me of the time I went on a trip to the North Pole - which was probably my favorite experience ever. Here were these scientists who worked their whole life trying to figure out how ice moves over thousands of years and then one day they finally had enough data. And suddenly they could say “this is what happens when a glacier starts moving”. This video is also a good example why you shouldn’t look too far into the future - if today you think humanity will be able to travel between stars anytime soon or even live forever, please watch this clip before you make your next prediction :) Below is a long blog post about 1540. It’s an important date for those who love to play with words and grammar, because it marks the year that English changed forever when John Wycliffe translated his Bible into English from Latin (which had been in use since before Beowulf). It was one of many translations from Hebrew or Greek which were made by various groups over time—and all of them are called “Wycliffite” even though there may be differences between each translation. However you slice it: once they became available people loved reading scripture without needing scholars around every corner! But perhaps more than anything else this momentous event gave us our modern-day version so we can now enjoy Shakespeare instead…or at least understand what he means better because sometimes things don’t translate well otherwise.” Below is a long blog post about 2013. Here are the bullet points: My book was released in January and I’ve been promoting it ever since, mostly by going to conferences where people talk about my topic of interest (social media). For example, at two recent conferences I spoke on panels, did workshops/breakout sessions, moderated a panel discussion and gave keynote speeches. It has kept me busy for most of this year – but it also feels good because social media continues to be an exciting area that helps businesses grow in new ways while also changing our lives personally as well. In short, there is still so much we don’t know yet! This weekend I’ll be giving a webinar for a group called “The Worldwide Business Network” which will cover some basic principles such as how Facebook ads can help you find your audience if you have something important to say or share with them (or sell them something). As part of their package deal they offer all sorts of things like free books etc…which makes sense given what kinda company it appears to run itself according too…anyway hope everyone enjoys reading these posts throughout time cause then maybe someday one day soon hopefully eventually possibly uhhmmm …you get idea right? In February, I went to New York City again — this trip was more than just fun though; it had practical purposes too like talking up my book among other authors who write similar stuff as mine do & meeting editors from magazines whose articles would fit nicely into certain chapters within said tome.. So yeah basically doing lots o networking which always pays off later down line when either opportunity comes calling OR someone else offers us money instead lol jkjkjkjkjjk After returning back home following another successful adventure abroad overseas ,I continued working hard towards getting published once again due out early next month !!!
